JOURNALISTS POLICY: CNOG APPROVES REFORM PROPOSAL
Source: university-oggi.itIl National Council of Journalists held in Positano, today unanimously approved 'the proposed reform of the National Order of Journalists. The document 'the result of extensive and detailed discussion, passed through the examination of the Legal Committee, the Presidents of the associations of regional and national directors. It is a highly innovative reform, based on three key points that change, and revolutionized, the law establishing the Order dates back 45 years ago. The strong points of innovation regarding access to the profession, the streamlining of the National Council achieved through the substantial reduction in the number of directors, the important change in the composition and procedures of the bodies called upon to judge violations to the code of ethics. Without prejudice to the general principles established by the 1963 Act, namely 'the right to information and obligations of journalists, including respect for the truth' in the facts, the proposal establishes a new form of access to the profession: the the degree course. You do not become 'more' for journalists but rather a publisher's choice '- as happens in other professions - through a predetermined process to education and training. The second cornerstone of the draft reform to the decision to significantly reduce the size CNOG, currently and 'bloated and makes the work of the highest representative body of the bloated and expensive category. At a time when the imperative is' reform, the Order has decided to apply a principle of self-discipline and respect of colleagues and citizens. Finally, the third key point: e ', the establishment of an ethics committee and delegated restricted to decide, finally, appeals regarding disciplinary sanctions less serious warning and censorship. The suspension and the radiation will remain within the competence of CNOG. Everything 'will help' so crucial to streamlining, rationalizing and accelerating the work of the Board, which will have 'more' time and energy to devote to needs' and the problems of class. Finally, the Courts 'and transitional rules: the Courts' as the third body to ensure the accuracy of the information (thus protecting the city), the transitional rules that allow the passage, in a span of five years from the current to new legislation. The Order of Journalists has traced a path of reform, and showed that the will 'and capacity' to renew itself and adapt to the changing times and conditions of the profession. Now WILL BE FOR 'Parliament to do their own need for change, transforming it into law. (AGI)
